The memories and friendship I had with Don are still in my head and heart, and I'm happy to have had him on my "train of life".  I pray that he is resting in peace.  Ron Danna

My heartfelt condolences to your family.  I worked with Don at GE - Nela Park.   I started at GE in 1989 as a 22 year old working in IT supporting the finance area.  This is how I met Don.  I remember feeling intimidated by Don.  I was young, no professional work experience at all.  He was tough on me.  In the moment, I remember thinking why is this guy being so hard on me.  Then, one day, a project I was working on with him, I questioned his ideas on the work we were doing.  I proposed a different solution.  I was nervous.  He paused, then said, I think that’s a better idea.  Sounds good to me, let’s do that . From that day forward, we were good friends.  We never talked about that specific event or how I felt before that day.  I reflected on the moment later and I know why he was hard on me, why he challenged me.  He wanted me to stand up for myself, my ideas, for me as a person.  He taught me a wonderful lesson.  Believe in myself.  I am so so grateful for Don.  I lived close by to Don in Village Green condos in Mentor, so we would car pool occasionally and meet for lunch after he retired.  Thank you Don for the gift of your friendship and believing in me. Don & I worked together in the late 80s to 2000, but I always enjoyed talking with him over the years. 

His love for you, Dian, was clear and his compassion for others always shone through! I will miss him! As Charlie said today, he was a good man who loved our country and the people in it!
