Hello mrs. Bloomfield,
I never met you, but you must remember my father, Albert Garn.
As a child I remember hearing my father refer to Dr. Bloomfield as "a real mensch".  When my father died I was a bit surprised when the Dr. Came to all our shiva Minoans, until I remembered "mensch".  I was honored to give him day's router and maybe some other tools.  He really wanted some tool from dad that he could remember with and also use.  It touched me - 33 years ago.
I happen to be in Florida now visiting my Mom (99 years) and thought of Cleveland memories and found out the sad news. I remember his smile that illuminated his big dimples. I'm glad to have been his patient and to have worked with my dad in his office.

Dear Mrs. Bloomfield and family,
 
Today while  talking with a dear friend  from  the Cleveland area I learned of  the passing  of Dr. Bloomfield from this world to the next.

First of all you have my deepest and most heartfelt sympathy in the loss of Dr. Bloomfield. 
  I have so much I want to say but it would fill  a book.
Dr. Bloomfield was my first employer straight off the farm from Coshocton, County.  We moved into the office on South Taylor and I will never forget him taking  me back to  one of the exam rooms and showing me a horse picture he had bought because he knew I loved horses.  Such kindness.  Words can not even describe what it was like working  beside him.  I was just talking to  my daughter a few days ago about him coming into the office every morning singing  a song, especially the  theme from Dr. Zhivago.

He was such a inspiration to me.  He was kind, ethical,  and even when he  told me   over and over again not to open the incinerator so I could  throw one more piece of paper in it and he could smell the smoke billowing from it he was  firm but gentle in his scolding   me. He just firmly but gently  would ask me "Why did you do that again?"

I have two wonderful children who were raised on  much of the child rearing advice that he told the parents of his patients His advice...even when parents didn't agree with him, they knew  it was only the children  growing up healthy both physically and emotionally  that he was concerned about. He deeply cared for their well being. 

My dad who met him  admired him so and as he would have said .  Dr. Bloomfield was "one in a million"  

I value those  years working for him and loved him dearly as a truly dear friend. I hope he knew how much I valued his friendship and working in the office.

My deepest sadness for you and yours for the loss of our friend Doc. Bloomfield.  He was my friend from Peter Lewis.  I have lost touch with him since Janet and I now live in Sarasota Fla.  May God bless you and bring you peace.

It's all been said here. Dr. Bloomfield was The Best - person and one-of-a kind doc, in the truest sense of the word.  He was huge soul, uniquely dedicated to the healing of body, mind, and soul of others - which he recognized in everyone from birth on.
He took such good care of my two kids, now 37 and 39 - and of me - making sure to empower me, the parent, always simply and wisely and in the most foundational and important  ways, so the love, care, and fullest health, growth and empowerment of the kids, which he knew was primary,  could be carried forward. 
The only negative of our Dr. Bloomfield experience is  - that he set the bar so high for what a doctor is - and what whole-person health and well-being is - that my son, daughter, nor I have never been able to find another quite like him.

Dr. Bloomfield was my children's pediatrician.  I knew very little about children, and shared this with him when my oldest son was born.  "Don't ever put him in a high place, and let him fall off.  Always hold on to him on the changing table.  As long as you do that, he'll be fine."  Simple words that gave me confidence, and that was only the beginning.  He once told me that he was only wrong when he didn't listen to a mother, because moms always know their kids the best.  So many words of wisdom that I used to raise my children with his help.  It's been so many years, but he will always live in my memory, and those of my sons.  All my sympathy to the Bloomfield family.

Dr. Bloomfield, you were the coolest doctor.

Dr. Bloomfield was our four boys doctor until they could not fit on the table any more and he had to tell them to go elsewhere.   One Son though did have a consultation appointment when he was in dental school. What a great man. He pulled us through many an emergency.

Dr. Bloomfield was my childhood doctor. A couple outstanding thoughts were, he told me to always use "Dial" soap.  I use it to this day.  Second, is a funny story...he handed me a cup and told me to urinate in it.  I may have been three years old.  I wasn't familiar with the term, so I brought back the toothpaste that was in his bathroom instead.  I laugh about it to this day.  He was an incredible doctor and a man larger than life, especially to me when I was young.  Great soul! RIP Doc.

Dear Bloomfield Family, We will never forget the wonderful care my preemie daughter recieved forty six years ago from Dr Bloomfield. Without him we would not have her today. We have been thankful and never forgotten this miracle.

Dr. Bloomfield was my childhood pediatrician as well as my siblings.  I remember him making several house calls through the years.  In the early 80's I worked for Dr. Stan Abram who was Dr. Bloomfield's Dentist.  The first time he saw me after 25 years he said" "I know you, you're one of the Reiff kids". He never forgot a face, no matter how many years passed.  My deepest sympathy to the Bloomfield Family.

I was his first patient in our family back in 1954.  He was recommended by another well known pediatrician who was unavailable at our time of need.  He came to our home in Warrensville Hts. and diagnosed me with Pneumonia.  Saved my life and wss our pediatrician for the rest of his career, including my own children.  He took such great care of all of us.  From strep to dislocated shoulder, Dr. Bloomfield was awesome.  He could make me feel good about getting a shot. Now at 58 yrs old, I still have never met another doctor/friend like him.  One of a kind.  God Bless You all.

I worked for Dr. Bloomfield on Saturdays for 8 years.  He took care of my son, Dominic.  He counseled me and had a profound affect on my life.  I have thought of him often over the years and have told many stories of our time togehter. He was a dear, sweet soul.  I know he will be missed.

Dr. Bloomfield was our nieghbor on Eaton Road. While doing his daily walks you could always count on a pleasant and interesting coversation along with a smile and wonderful laugh. Our condolences to his family.

Dr. Bloomfield was our pediatrician beginning when I was a baby. I am now 56. He saved my life when I was 9, by meeting myself and my parent at his office at 3:30 AM in his pajamas. I had a ruptured appendix. He sent us straight to Rainbow Children's Hospital for surgery. Doctors told my parents that I would have been dead by morning. For that I am forever greatful. Of course he was my 2 children's doctor too. The only reason that I saw this obituary is because my own mother passed away and was in yesterday's obituary(Grace Fabian). As a matter of fact her and I were recently talking about Dr. Bloomfield and wondering about him. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Uncle Dick devoted his life to the healing of others.  Many owe their lives to his devoted and expert care.  Our sages state "He who sustains an Israelite life -- it is if he sustained an entire world" (Mishna, Sanhedrin, Chapter 4, Mishna 5).

Now that Uncle Dick is making the transition from This World to the Next, he will be greeted by untold "worlds" of not only the patients he saved but all the future generations of those patients who will now come to be because of his care.

Dr. Bloomfield, you were my doctor for many years.  You took care of me in so many ways, and you and your family took me in when I was in need.  From broken bones, upset tummies, and allergies, you knew exactly what to do.  I thank you, and I know you are with God for a well deserved rest after taking care of so many kids for many, many years.  I'll never forget you always checked kid's tummy's during regular checkups, looking for lumps.  One day, you were so thrilled because after doing this for years and never finding anything, a child brought in for something totally unrelated, had that lump and you saved his life by getting him into emergency surgery.  You taught me to drive a stick shift, brought me chicken soup when I was sick, and as a treat, you once brought me rye bread, hot from the bakery.  There is so much love in my heart for you.
