Eireen Cullen

Éireen Cullen (née Bonnie Anne Boroson), 60, of Richmond Heights, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the David Simpson Hospice House, Cleveland, Ohio after a long and valiant battle with cancer. She was born August 9, 1965, in Pittsfield, MA, the eldest child of Dr. Hugh and Dorothy (Perpelitt) Boroson. She attended Ithaca College where she pursued a degree in music and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity. Her love of music continued throughout her lifetime. She was a talented singer and played multiple instruments, including her father’s restored Gibson mandolin. She was proud of her Jewish heritage but also loved Celtic culture. so much so that she changed her first and last names so that they sounded more Irish. Éireen found her true calling as a sign language interpreter, helping students pursue their education with her services. Her proudest accomplishment was when she passed the ASL Sign Language Interpreter exam with nearly a perfect score.

Éireen is survived by her mother, Dorothy (Perpelitt) Boroson of Richmond Heights, OH; two brothers, William Boroson (Kathryn LaFontana) of Lyndhurst, OH and Craig Boroson (Tara Boroson) of Spring City, PA; and two nieces, Talia Eden Boroson and Anika Roan Boroson.

She was predeceased by her father Dr. Hugh Boroson.

Services are private and burial will take place at Temple Anshe Amunim Cemetery in Pittsfield, MA. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Association of the Deaf or the Irish Traditional Music Archive.
