Obituary of Estelle Ringel
IN THE CARE OF

Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel

ESTELLE RINGEL DECEMBER 14, 1936 – AUGUST 5, 2024

Estelle Ringel (Neuman), beloved wife of the late Robert, adoring mother of Stuart (Kerri) Ringel of Scottsdale, AZ and Mark (Susan) of Pepper Pike, OH. Devoted grandmother of Steven, David and Natalie Ringel, Bradley (Dr. Brittany Levy) and Richard (Amy Levey) Ringel, great grandmother of Teddy and Nate. Dear sister of the late Jules Neuman, sister-in-law of Harriet Ringel.

Estelle was born in 1936 and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She was a lifelong fan of the Dodgers and then the Cubs. After Estelle and Bob married, they moved to West Lafayette, IN where they raised their sons. Estelle was very involved with the Sisterhood of Temple Israel and cheered on her sons at all of their sporting events (she washed a lot of athletic uniforms in her day!). Estelle was a quiet but diehard fan of the Purdue Boilermakers. Estelle was crazy about her grandkids who enjoyed an endless supply of homemade chocolate chip cookies and who were amazed how she could “talk sports like no other Grandma.” Living in Cleveland, she became an Indians fan, volunteered at National Council of Jewish Women to sew heart pillows for women post breast cancer surgery, and baked cookies and pastries in the Community Kitchen at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple.

Estelle was very bright, tough to beat at Scrabble, well-read, humble, and a kind and loyal friend. Family was at the center of all she did. We will miss her greatly.

Funeral services will be held at Soller-Baker, Lafayette, IN, Friday, August 9, 2024, 10 a.m. For live streaming, go to https://soller-baker.com/obituary/estelle-ringel/ and click on Watch Livestream of Service.

Mark and Susan will receive friends at Congregation Mishkan Or, 26000 Shaker Blvd. Beachwood, OH. SUNDAY, AUGUST 11, 3:30PM-8PM.

If you would like to donate in her memory, please consider: Temple Israel of West Lafayette, National Council of Jewish Women, (NCJW) Cleveland, or Foundation Fighting Blindness.org.

Arrangements under the direction of Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel.
