

Esther Siegel passed away on May 9, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on July 9, 1933, to Harry and Yetta Shesol, Esther lived a life filled with learning, creativity, friendship, and love for family.
Esther was a devoted teacher and tutor for Tri-C Community College. She had a deep love of reading, politics, the arts, and music. Known for her warmth and generosity, she was a true friend to many, an excellent cook, and a talented stylist. Her wisdom, wit, and kindness touched everyone who knew her.
She was especially proud of her family and cherished her role as a grandmother to her beloved granddaughter, Yoela Koplow.
Esther leaves behind her loving husband, Paul Siegel; her children, Bruce Koplow and Lesley Koplow; and her granddaughter, Yoela Koplow.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Morton Shaw and Edith Jenks.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday May 12, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Esther’s memory to a charity supporting literacy, education, the arts, or a cause close to her heart.
