

Fanny Aizen, Holocaust survivor born January 25, 1933 in Brussels, Belgium passed away August 28, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry Aizen(z”l) and the devoted mother of Annette (Bill) Friedson, Mardy Aizen and Jerry (Cindy) Aizen. Fanny was the adored Grandmother of Rachel (David ) Friedman, Melissa (Harry Weiss ) Aizen, Katie (Zack Grimmer) Friedson, Dr. Joshua (Jordan Fruchey) Aizen and Samantha Aizen. She was the cherished “GG” to Colin, Asher and Leila Friedman, Noe and Monroe Grimmer and Ezra Weiss.
Fanny was a remarkable woman. During the war, she lived in hiding in the Belgium countryside with her mother. She later moved to Israel where she met Harry, another Holocaust survivor and came to the U.S. in 1955 to build a new life and raise a family. She cherished her family above all else, regularly celebrating Shabbat dinners and hosting holiday festivities. Fanny enjoyed reading, spoke four languages and loved spending time with friends, playing cards and kibbitzing.
Graveside services will be held Monday, August 31st at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Memorial Park, 5461 Northfield Rd. Bedford Heights. Shiva will be observed at the home of Jerry and Cindy Aizen at 5592 High Point in Solon following the service until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
