Galina Nezhevenko

Galina Nezhevenko passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Born in Ukraine to Iliya and Bronia Nezhevenko, Galina later lived in Ukraine, Russia and Israel before making her home in the United States. Throughout her life, she found joy in the simple beauties of nature and cherished time spent outdoors. An avid reader and lover of poetry, she had a deep appreciation for literature, learning, and the written word.

Galina treasured the many dear friends she made in Russia and Israel and found her greatest happiness in spending time with her family and loved ones. She will be remembered for her warmth, her love of learning, and the meaningful connections she built throughout her life.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Svetlana Sablin (Vasiliy), and her cherished granddaughter, Nadia Sablin.

Galina was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity supporting literacy, poetry, nature conservation, or another organization that was meaningful to Galina and her family.
