George Kronenberg passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2026.
Born in Germany on July 24, 1928, to Ludwig Kronenberg and Minna Lowenstein, George was a proud Holocaust survivor whose life stood as a testament to resilience, courage, and hope. As a young boy, he escaped Nazi persecution through the Kindertransport, an experience he later chronicled in his memoir, Twin Escape on the Kindertransport. Throughout his life, he shared his powerful story as a dedicated and sought-after Holocaust speaker, educating generations about the importance of remembrance, tolerance, and humanity.
George devoted 51 years of service to American Greetings, where he built a respected and lasting career. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he had a deep love for the arts and was known for his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering spirit.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Michelle Kronenberg; Nephew, Martin Polster and Adela; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his devoted and loving wife, Sally Kronenberg; and his sister, Marion Rosen.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Olive Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in George’s memory to Jewish Family Services of Cleveland.
