Gwendolyn “Gwen” (nee Katz) Lewis, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2018. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 18, 1927 to the late Harry and Celia Katz. Gwen was the dearly beloved wife of the late Charles Lewis, her soul-mate whom she cared for deeply, devoted and loving mother of Lorin (Alan) Gottlieb, cherished grandmother of Robyn (Dan) Brenner, and Jordan Gottlieb; and adoring great-grandmother of Liam and Owen Brenner. Loving aunt to Joyce (Dave) Turchan, Jerry (Lisa) Berk, Arnold Lewis, Howard Lewis and Dr. Joan Denson.
Gwen was a lover of arts and crafts. She created several of her own lines of work including hair bows and clips, pins, and greeting cards made from buttons called “Buttons & More by Gwen”. She enjoyed displaying her work at the many craft shows she attended with Charles and Lorin as her dedicated assistants. She was an avid-reader, devoted volunteer, and had a fondness of plants and flowers, she was the green-thumb of the family. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and creating the perfect birthday card personalized for each member.
Graveside services will be held Friday, December 14 at 11:30 a.m. at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, 27855 Aurora Rd. Solon, OH 44139. The family will observe Shiva at the residence of Alan & Lorin Gottlieb, 2435 Suffolk Ln., Pepper Pike, Friday following services, Saturday from 7-9 pm, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, Wednesday from 2-4 pm, and 7-9 pm with minyan at 7 pm daily.
