Israela Lash

Israela Lash passed away August 31, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Marvin Lash; devoted mother of Steven (Jan) Lash, Jonathan Lash and Mark (Susan) Lash; loving grandmother of Matthew (Jessica), Ryan (Kara) and Michael (Ari Moss Fiancé), Olivia (Tyler Rudy Fiancé), Mackenzie Lawrence (Kyle) and Garrison (Bridget Laffey Fiancé); loving great grandmother of Kate; loving daughter of Morris and Jean Moss; dear sister of Eudese Paull and Mildred Udelson (both deceased)

She devoted her career to shaping young lives as a Nursery School Teacher at Park Synagogue. A voracious reader, she gave her time generously at the Sight Center, reading aloud to all who attended.

Israela had many passions. She loved knitting, creating baby caps, blankets, and clothing for her family. She was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying tennis with her late husband, Marvin. Her love of travel took her across the globe, and at home she found joy in her Mahj and Book Club groups as well as theater and music—attending concerts at Severance Hall and Blossom Music Center, playing the piano, and cherishing classical music.

Above all, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews and dear friend to many. She was the last of her generation of the Lash and Moss families, leaving behind a legacy of love, learning, and cherished memories.

Services will be held at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel 1985 S. Taylor Rd., Cleveland Hts., 12:00 Noon Thursday, September 4.To view the service, please scroll down to the Services Section and click on “JOIN LIVESTREAM”.

Family will receive friends at Pointe East Social Room, 27500 Cedar Rd., Beachwood THURSDAY 2-7PM. Contributions are suggested to your charity of choice supporting cancer or Parkinson's research.
