

Jack Coven, born in 1922 in Chicago, the only child of Morris and Rose Cohen. Dearly beloved husband of the late Horty (nee Markowitz) for over 70 years. Loving father of Larry (Liza) Coven, Marcia (Steve Joseph) Coven, and Kenny (Karen Lombardo) Coven. Devoted grandfather of Brad (Sara) , Bryan (Kristen), Steve (Melissa), Michael (Erica), Alex and Robbie, great-grandfather of Livi, Ava, Noa, Drew, Emma, and Aiden.
A World War II veteran and a graduate of Case Western Reserve University. A truly remarkable self made man who provided an incredible life for his family. Jack was a highly respected and successful commercial real estate developer, one of the first to build suburban flex buildings in northeast Ohio. He was an excellent poker player with a sharp sense of humor and a wonderful friend to many. Jack enjoyed golf, travel, racquetball, and any kind of card game. He loved living in Florida when he was not in Cleveland. Former member of Lake Forest and Oakwood Country clubs. Active member of the Jewish community and Beechmont Country Club and The Temple-Tifereth Israel. Jack gave a new meaning to a life well lived.
Private family graveside services will be held at the Mayfield Cemetery. Family requests no visitation due to the pandemic. Friends who wish to view the service may do so beginning Thursday, September 30 by going to YouTube, select search and enter Jack Coven Funeral Service.
