

Dr. Joseph Seder, DPM, the second Jewish doctor hired at the Cleveland Clinic in the 1960s, passed away last week at the age of 90. A dedicated and pioneering physician, he founded the Department of Podiatry at the Cleveland Clinic, leaving a lasting legacy in the medical community.
A proud graduate of the Cleveland School of Podiatry, Dr. Seder served as past President of the Ohio Association of Podiatry and the Alumni Association of Podiatry. An avid reader, world traveler, antique collector, and a life member and volunteer of the National Council of Jewish Women, Joseph was a man of many talents and tastes. He loved Cleveland sports, especially baseball and basketball, and was known for his great sense of humor and quick wit.
Descended from the distinguished Lichter family of Pittsburgh, Joseph moved to Cleveland for his education and career, where he made a profound impact both professionally and personally.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marian; children, Laurie (Bryan Douglas) Seder and Michelle (Kevin) Seder-Dooner; grandchildren, Logan and Dillan Douglas; and brother, Harold (Joyce) Seder. He was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Jean Seder.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, June 15th, at 2:30 pm at Bet Olam Cemetery, 25796 Chagrin Boulevard, Beachwood.
