My condolences on your loss.

I only had the chance to meet Josh once about a month ago. A group of about 10 people met for dinner in Ohio City and Josh was a part of the crew that I was joining. As someone that's relatively new to Cleveland, I only knew two of the people in the group prior to dinner. On that night, I was so fortunate to end up seated next to Josh. He must have picked up on the fact that I was the "new guy" and he could sense that I was a little uncomfortable with the situation. Josh engaged me in conversation and further, helped bring me into the larger conversation throughout the night. It meant a lot to me that night and it's something that I'll always remember and appreciate.

Dear Greenberger Family,

I knew Joshua from the time he volunteered teaching in the slums of Mumbai with an organization called Gabriel Project Mumbai where I am the director. Joshua and I were room mates for several weeks and I got to know him well as a great guy with a heart of gold. We had some great talks and I have some wonderful stories to share with you about what made Joshua a lovely human being. Please accept my deep condolences on your loss.

    My heart breaks for you in hearing of this terrible loss.  Joshua was always full of life and love for all people.  It was an honor to be a small part of his childhood, and even then he was such a busy little guy.  
    I hadn't spoken with him in years, time passes and young boys become men and take on the challenges of the world.  Then suddenly one day about two years ago he popped up in my classroom to give me a hug and share some stories of his experiences.  What a fine young man he had become!  At that time he told me he had dedicated a water well in my name and words escaped me as I was humbled by such an honor.  
     I was so shocked to learn of your devastating loss.  May time and fond memories bring comfort to all of you.  My prayers are with you.

Dear Mr and Mrs Greenberger,

Your son was an exceptional person. I met him in Colorado and we always kept in touch no matter where he was in the world. Recently I was leaving on a 30 day solo journey overseas and when Josh found out he wrote me an incredible email outlining what I needed to see in each country I was visiting and what I needed to be careful of. He checked in with me throughout my trip to make sure I was ok and seeing all the wonderful places I should see and continued to recommend things to me.  He was just that kind of wonderful friend who wanted to make sure you were happy. He was a shining light dimmed too soon! He was a breathe of fresh air filled with laughter and silliness!  His kindness knew no bounds!  I enjoyed our friendship greatly and am so saddened that he left this world too soon. He will be greatly missed, a beautiful friend with a heart of gold! May he Rest In Peace and may your hearts weigh less heavy knowing that in his short time here he left a huge impact on my life as my friend! ❤ Gone but never forgotten. I am so sorry for your loss.
