Laura Wallenstein

A sweet, gentle angel left this earth on August 2, 2026.

Laura Goldstein Wallenstein passed away on August 2, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving behind a family whose lives were immeasurably enriched by her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit.

Laura embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She was an avid golfer, tennis player, and long-distance runner, and she especially loved ballroom dancing with her beloved husband of nearly 45 years, Aaron Goldstein, the love of her life. Whether playing bridge, canasta, or mahjong with friends, Laura delighted in bringing people together and treasured the many lifelong friendships she cultivated throughout the years.

After dedicating herself to raising her four children, Laura returned to Case Western Reserve University to pursue a degree in education. She worked tirelessly, graduated first in her class, and was immensely proud to become a reading and math specialist. She first worked for the State of Ohio, serving students at a Catholic school from a mobile classroom because of the separation of church and state. She later continued her career in other school districts throughout Northeast Ohio, where she devoted herself to helping children discover the joy of learning. Above all else, Laura's greatest joy was her family.

Beloved wife of the late Aaron Goldstein and the late Sandy Wallenstein and her longtime companion Norman Landau. She is survived by her loving daughter, Wendy Goldstein Zahler; her loving son, Cary Neil (Mary) Goldstein, and the late Harley Todd (Linda) Goldstein and the late Barry Jay Goldstein. Step children, Scott (Cathy) Wallenstein, Denise (David-dec.) Felton and the late Linda (Ken) Simon. Cherished grandmother of Ryan Hayden (Dayna) Goldstein, Analee Goldstein O'Shay, Gabriel (Grecia) Goldstein, Sydney Marie Goldstein, Aaron Alexander Goldstein and Katherine Hayley Goldstein. Step grandmother of Josh Simon, Nichole Nortman, Adam (Jill) Wallenstein and Michael (Kate) Wallenstein. Great grandmother of Mason, Graham

and Jayce Goldstein. The family wishes to express appreciation to her beloved caregiver, Deloris Collins.

Laura's life was defined by grace, compassion, gentleness, and unwavering love. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, quiet strength, and a family forever grateful to have been loved by her—and forever grateful for the privilege of loving her.

She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered.

Graveside services will be Thursday, August 6 at 3pm at the Bet Olam Cemetery, 25796 Chagrin Blvd. Beachwood, Ohio.
