Laurel Fried

January 4, 1949 – March 21, 2026

Laurel Ann Fried, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the age of 77. She was born on January 4, 1949, to Bernard Epstein, Adele Ack, and Jerry Ack.

Laurel embraced life with warmth and enthusiasm. She loved taking cruises, reading, and keeping up with her favorite cruise magazines. She enjoyed watching HGTV and, after her children left home, treasured evenings spent dining out with her husband. Laurel also took great pride in her home, especially her beautifully remodeled kitchen.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Fried; her son, Eric Fried (Kelly); her daughter, Barri Attina (Ronald Sulik); and her cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Benjamin, Payton and Jackson. She is also survived by her siblings, Jim Ack (Lynn McCarron) and Fern Frolin-Kaplan (Mitch) and her brother-in-law, Craig Lovullo.

Laurel was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Phillip Epstein, and her sister, Marcey Lovullo.

Private services will be held.

Shiva will be observed at the home of Robert and Laurel Fried on Wednesday, March 25; Thursday, March 26; and Friday, March 27, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Professional services have been under the direction of Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel.
