I could not have had a better homeroom teacher during my 3 years at Heights High (80’). There was not a single day she was not upbeat and positive. I learned and grew so much in understanding both the light and darkness of the human spirit through her phenomenal instruction in ‘Literature of the Holocaust’ . The amazing guest speakers, many of them survivors, would come and talk to our little class out of their deep respect and admiration for her work. It was a priveledge to be one of her students and I’m forever grateful for the example , guidance, and genuine love she had for us all.

Amazing, amazing , amazing  lady!  Leatrice was always interested in her peers and students welfares.  She is first in my mind as the pure, true, mentoring teacher - positive and desiring that people around her become the best they can be.  She emulated the best of the human spirit, leaving the world much better then when she found it.   I miss her smiles and warm greetings; she always had time for me.  Those who knew her are forever blessed.     

Leatrice was an exceptional woman’ whom I shall never forget.  A leader and pioneer in Holocaust education, who shaped many lives.   Her legacy as a teacher and friend to so many will endure.   Sara Bloomfield 

I was  student of Dr. Rabinsky's in 1977 (although she was in school and wasn't Dr. Rabinsky yet!).  She was a dynamic teacher.  Her Holocaust class at Cleveland Heights High School changed my life.  The summer of 1978 I met her in Israel, and together we interviewed Hannah Senesh's mother.  Her passion, intelligence, and kindness were an inspiration to me.  I would like to offer my sympathy and condolences to her family.  She was truly a gift to the world.

I just completed the last class Leatrice taught for the College of Jewish Studies. She was an inspiration to me and I admired her love for teaching.  Many of her students continued attending her classes and we became her Tuesday family.  I have known Leatrice for most of my life and I felt privileged to be her student and friend. Her kindness was off the charts. I hope her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will be comforted knowing the respect and admiration we all had for this very accomplished woman with a generous heart. We will miss her but know we are better for having had her in our lives.

Dr. Rabinsky was one of the greatest teachers and mentors I ever had. I will always be grateful for her fierce intelligence, passion, guidance, and nurturing spirit. I wish blessings and peace for her family. She has an amazing legacy!

So saddened to hear of Dr.  Rabinsky's passing...her class was the class in high school that I still to this day remember as my favorite.  She made history real, engaging and revealed that it is not just dates and facts ...but truths about real human beings.  We will always remember them and her.  Thank you Dr. Rabinsky!! Dr. Rabinsky was a wonderful, kind and loving soul.  I was fortunate to have had her as a teacher at Heights. She taught me so very much.  My father (Arnold Friedman) loved and respected her
so very much and enjoyed    the many trips and events for Holocaust Survivors  she was a part of.  
She will truly be missed.

The memories I have are endless. Memories spending Shabbat at the Rabinsky home, Heights High and just hanging out. Leatrice always a smile with an open warm heart. A brilliant loving woman who I love and respect.  She will be missed.

Dr. Rabinsky was a wonderful educator for English and holocaust studies
 She had such a positive influence on me in educating me on the holocaust. I will never forget her. My deepest condolences to her family. May she RIP.

My deepest condolences to Dr. Rabinsky’s family and loved ones. I had the privilege of being a student in her English class and took a trip of a lifetime to Israel with her for a youth leadership conference in the 1980s.  In everything, she had grace and dignity. She was a living lesson on compassion. Praying for peace and comfort for you all in your time of grief.

Words cannot express the magnitude that Dr. Rabinsky had on my life.  She taught me to be a responsible learner and to care about my grades.  She showed me what it meant to be an inspiring teacher to students so much so that I because a teacher myself.  She told us to keep our folders and that if we ever were in the capacity to share the message and stories of the Holocaust to others that we should.  I am a teacher of high school Social Studies and have taught the lessons I learned from her in my classes for over 20 years. Thank you Dr. Rabinksy.  Thank you.
