My condolences to the family.  I'm just finding out and sad that a great doctor has passed.  I was a patient of his in the late 70's and he cleared my skin with no problem after seeing numerous other dermatologists, I would return off and on during flare ups and I was even seen one time by Oppenheimer, Bruce. Throughout the course of meeting people with skin problems I would always refer them to Dr. Katz.  and if the practice is still operating I know the staff working there are just as wonderful as he was.

I was a patient of Dr. Katz for many years.  My family was also.  He always made us smile.  No one can compare to him or his bedside manner.  He was the most thorough doctor in dermatology.  He is missed.

Dear Katz Family, 
Dr Leonard Katz was so much more than my employer…he was my Mentor, my friend and my teacher! What a brilliant mind. He once told me that if he couldn’t diagnose a skin condition within 30 seconds there was something wrong. I have so many memories of him and each one of them makes me smile. He once took Tami and I to the big Dermatological convention in San Francisco California. We learned so very much all while having a complete blast. Anyone who knew him or spent any time with him learned that he knew how to live life and drank every drop of it. He loved his family so very much and often spoke about his Wife, beautiful Daughters and his VERY Beloved Grandson Steven, who was just a young boy at that time. He treasured the time his Grandson spent at his home and bragged about his above average intelligence. Thanks for the memories Leonard, you will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know you well. 

To the entire Katz family;
Many heartfelt condolences for the passing of Leonard Katz.  He was, as they say "a force of nature".  I worked for him as a typist in the early 1970's. (Though I couldn't type). The staff had more fun than a lot of the patients, about which I have many fond memories.  I believe I am the only surviving member of that coterie; Judy and Pat.  Remembering his fascination with fish and the huge tanks in his home, one of which flooded the place at one point.  Remembering his addiction to cigarettes, easy manner and wry sense of humor.  Later his unusual fashions and vivid shirts.  He was a treat!

More than fifty years ago, after returning from two years in the Peace Corps, I was classified 1-A and told to report for an Army physical.  At the end of a long day, I looked at the eczema on my hands and told the examiner it was “some kind of jungle-rot I had picked up in Africa.”  They sent me to Dr. Katz.
He asked me what my ailment was, and with no clue as to his position on Vietnam, I said, simply, “the draft and this horrible war.”  He asked more questions, took notes, but offered no opinions.  
Two weeks later my draft board informed me that I was re-classified 4-F, permanently disqualified from the Army due to a health condition.  That was the only time I met Dr. Katz, but I never forgot his name.  With sadness and immense gratitude I read of passing this morning.


Dr, Katz was our family dermatologist for many years.  His humor and knowledge of the graphic knowledge my sons loved in their teens made them comfortable with their acne treatment. 
He also diagnosed some conditions of mine (shingles) before my primary physician could.  His knowledge was known and respected by many other doctors.

I was saddened to read about Dr. Katz' passing. He was my dermatologist for many years. He always had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful doctor. My condolences to his family. May his memory be a blessing. 

Dearest Vicki and Lauri and Family..to the most devoted and selfless daughters to your amazing Dad! Fond memories of popping by to see both your Parents over the years and particularly, Lauri, when I made you go with me to your Dad's office to have him check something in not a "convenient" spot, shall we say. He was the best! May his Memory be for a Blessing..

Dr. Katz was an incredible doctor who saved my adolescence from a predicament of acne. He told me that I would have great skin in middle age and he was right! He was a great doctor to my parents, sister and friends. I'm sad to read about his passing but he had a full life and helped so many people.

I am so so sorry to read this.  Your father was a true mensch.  Hugs and prayers to all of you.  I will hug you all on Sunday.
