Linda Kahn, daughter of Sylvia and Marvin Kahn, was born on February 12,1939, and died with all the tenacity she lived her life on October 21, 2024. Mother, artist, singer, and wife, Linda would sometimes joke that she was jack-of-all-trades. The truth is Linda was one of the most talented women we all knew, who could do just about anything she put her mind to doing.
Linda had many accomplishments and adventures, and traveled the world. In addition to Cleveland, she lived in New York and London, before returning to her hometown. Linda has excelled as a professional artist, opera singer, greeting card writer, wordsmith, amateur lyricist, pianist and student of architecture. In addition to her many talents, Linda had a generous heart, often giving sentimental gifts and penning songs for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. From decorating and painting, to making personalized invitations and posters—If you could think of it, Linda would work tirelessly to accomplish it. Linda loved music, art, reading, grammar, crossword puzzles, and gardening.
Linda was raised in Cleveland and went to Shaker Heights High School (class of 1957), where among having many friends and admirers, she also was the lead actress in many musicals, including, one of her favorites, Oklahoma! In addition to her beauty, she was smart and started her college career at Northwestern, graduating from Case Western Reserve (class of 1961), where she met her husband, Philip Rossman (1935- 1967). After Phillip’s untimely death, Linda later met and married Floyd Silver (1938-2018).
Linda Kahn was predeceased by Sylvia and Marvin Kahn. She is survived by her loving children, Reid Rossman, Leslie Rossman Nelson and Halley Silver, her daughter-in-law, Michele Capalbo, her son-in-laws, Matthew Nelson and Kirt Johnson; her grandchildren, Sylvie Nelson, Parker Nelson, Daisy Johnson and Bella Johnson, her brother, Lawrence Kahn and sister-in-law Sharon Kahn, sister-in-law, Cel Polster, and first cousin and dear friend, Ann Eland.
