Louis was married for over 48 years to his beloved wife, Sarah (nee Schneider); devoted step-father of Michael Ben Ami (deceased); loving brother of Jenny Kuricki (deceased); dear brother-in-law of Joe Schneider (deceased) and Carmella Schneider; cherished uncle and cousin of many.
Louis fled Poland in 1939 with his brothers but were captured and placed into labor camps in Russia. After the war Louis put his training as a baker to use and in 1951 came to the United States with a Baker's visa. Once living in the States he learned a new trade as a sheet metal worker with a roofing and gutter firm.
After marrying Sarah, following good advice from his union, Louis formed his own roofing and gutter company, making Sarah the president. He worked as her employee thus being able to remain in the union and continuing to grow his company and his pension.
Louis was a champion table tennis competitor, earning medals, trophies and ribbons both in Europe and the United States. He trained many table tennis players and held classes at Green Road Synagogue twice a week to train the next generation of competitors. Louis competed at table tennis playing well into his 90's.
Louis and Sarah are among the founding members of Green Road Synagogue.
Funeral services will be held at BERKOWITZ-KUMIN-BOOKATZ MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1985 S. TAYLOR RD., CLEVELAND HTS. on Monday, April 22 at 11:30 AM.
Interment at Zion Memorial Park (Green Road Synagogue section).
With the Passover Holiday the family will not observe shivah but will welcome friends MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 1:30 TO 3 PM at the Radzeli residence, 2547 Brentwood Rd., Beachwood, Ohio.
