Dear Krantz family,
Marc and I were high school friends and we shared many classes together.  Though I haven't lived in Cleveland for many years,  with great admiration I've followed Marc's civic and philanthropic accomplishments through articles I've read in the Cleveland Jewish News.  Ellen, Tara and Ross -- I've read what people have said about your dad, what a warm, smart, good-natured and good-hearted person he was.  I can tell you that he was exactly that when he was about your ages, too.  Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss.

My heart felt condolences to the Kranz family for your tragic and shocking loss. I graduated Shaker and went to Hanover with Marc in 1978. While I have known him for a lifetime we were never as close as I would have liked. Still I  always liked Marc very much and just knew on a very basic level that he was one of the "good guys". 

I can only begin to imagine the profundity of his loss to the Kranz family. My thoughts and prayers go out to you in the hope that God shepherds you through this tragedy and helps you find peace. In my experience the passage of time is the only thing that will eventually allow you to heal. Hopefully that notion can bring you some comfort in the meantime...

While I did not know Marc as well as many, I looked forward to any time we were together, usually over breakfast at Yours Truly.  I learned so much from Marc, especially â€œthe how â€œ to get something done with the usual grace and thoughtfulness that he lived each day. I will miss him as will all the facets of the Cleveland community that Marc touched.   Again, our family has the Krantz family in our daily thoughts and prayers.

I don't have the words to describe this deep sadness.  Marc is and will always be one of the best people I have ever met, worked with, and had the pleasure to be around.
