Marcia, born June 21, 1945, grew up in Shaker Heights and attended Shaker Heights schools where she met Ronnie on a spring break trip to Florida in 11th grade. Despite being one year older than him, their relationship continued as she went on to attend the Ohio State University where Ronnie followed her one year later. After college, they returned to Shaker Heights where they married, had their two children, many dogs and built a wonderful life together that lasted over 50 years until Ronnie’s passing in 2013. Marcia was the most devoted wife, with unparalleled dedication to her husband and children.
Marcia spent her entire life giving to others – her family, her friends and the community. She was a volunteer and served on the Mt. Sinai Women’s Auxiliary Board as its President in the 1970s and worked for years at Jewish Federation. Marcia also served on the board at the Temple -Tifereth Israel and was a board member of the Hopewell Foundation for many years. Most recently, she was one of the three founders of the Gathering Place Warehouse. Her love of games, books and sports brought her together with friends and family throughout her life. Marcia was known for her selflessness, kindness, generosity and unwavering devotion to others.
Additionally, Marcia dedicated herself to the role of family matriarch, cultivating strong relationships with her cousins, nieces and nephews and their children. Holidays were always at her home, bringing the entire family together. Marica was the ultimate hostess, whether for her family or gatherings with friends. Celebrated for her incredible cooking, elegant home and perfect dinner parties, her pepperoni and tuna rollups were as loved as she was. Marcia will be greatly missed by all.
