Marilyn was known for her easy-going nature and her generous spirit, especially in supporting causes close to her heart, such as animal welfare and helping those battling cancer. A savvy businesswoman, she founded Simtax, a tax credit company, over 30 years ago. Just last week, she was seen at her office, caring for her many clients.
She will be deeply missed by her significant other, Len Goldstein; daughter, Lori Simms; son, Andy (Katie Pollock) Simms; grandchildren, Marley and Jacey Simms; her brother, Brian (Hope) Ellis; sister, Sandra (Art) Tabachnik; and her beloved fur baby, Buddy, who will feel her absence the most.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 8th at 2:00 pm at the Berkowitz Kumin Bookatz Memorial Chapel, 1985 S. Taylor Road, Cleveland Heights. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, 27855 Aurora Road, Solon.
Shiva visits will be at Andy and Katie’s home on Tuesday from 4:30 to 7:00 pm, and on Wednesday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marilyn’s memory to Rescue Village (www.rescuevillage.org) or The Gathering Place (www.touchedbycancer.org).
