

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on December 19, 1928, Martin lived a rich and dedicated life marked by deep commitment to his family, his business, his community, and his many passions.
Martin was the proud owner of a drapery business, which he ran for 60 years with unwavering dedication and pride. Beyond his professional life, he gave generously of his time to public service, serving on the Beachwood City Council for over 40 years. His leadership, integrity, and steady presence helped shape the community he loved and was honored by the city with the dedication of an 11-foot statue in the lobby of Beachwood City Hall.
Martin was a proud Ohio State Buckeye and a member of the university’s first lacrosse team. His love of sports continued throughout his life—he was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Indians and an avid tennis player, winning USTA Doubles’ tournaments nationally and was still playing almost daily just a few months ago. His competitive spirit also thrived at the bridge table, where he enjoyed countless games with friends and family.
Martin also had a passion for travel, theatre and music. He sang with the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus and once performed at the renowned Carnegie Hall, a treasured memory and proud accomplishment.
Martin is survived by his loving wife, Lois Kates Arsham; his sons Scott Arsham (partner Robert Alvarez) and Kevin Arsham ( Kleri Arsham); and his cherished granddaughters Elaina (Steven Carey), Carissa, and Anna Arsham; loving step father of Laura (Jim) Feldman and Andy Kates; grandfather of David (Rachel) Feldman, Robbie (Emma) Feldman and Leah Kates. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine Arsham, and his beloved sons Stevie and Bruce Arsham.
