A few memories of my beloved Uncle Marty:
I remember he loved talking about family history, and the things he learned in Israel about family history and the town in Eastern Europe that our family originated from. He also enjoyed getting updates from me about the scientific work I am doing, research projects, papers, etc., because we had in common that our professions were in science/technology areas. He would always say something encouraging like "you're working on some really interesting problems". Finally, I remember from the time when I visited Cleveland a few years ago and stayed at your Dad's house how important it was to him to live independently and keep his mind and body active. So I'm glad that he was able to continue to do those things for his whole life.

Please accept our condolences on Marty’s passing.  We were so very fond of your Dad, of both your parents. He was a remarkable man in so many ways - a great friend to my in-laws,  passionate about Israel and dedicated to contribute,  and together with your mom, most hospitable -  we have wonderful memories of spending  many Thanksgiving dinners with you all, his sharp mind and his broad interests, his enthusiasm in hearing what others were doing, and I could go on. 
Thank you for your condolence note. We last saw Marty when he and Rick came over for Rosh Hashanah dinner - I think it was 2018. Although he was frail, he enjoyed himself and he was so gracious. May his memory be for a blessing .

We are fortunate to have met Marty a few years ago.  I looked forward to sitting with him every Monday at the Jewish Community Center Men's Club, drinking coffee, eating kuchen, listening to his stories and reading the Jerusalem  Post.  It was a pleasure to have him at our home for Passover Seders.

It broke my heart to read the news that Marty passed away.  He was such a special man,honest and talented in so many ways, yet his most distinct quality was being a mentch. He was such a loveable person, and I will always remember him with great appreciation and love.

Rosh Hashanah will not be the same without a phone call from Marty, saying "Rosh Hashanah sameach kid, how are you and the family", followed by our catching up on family and politics and what we were doing with ourselves in our old age.
When Marty and Aral first came here, after a very long wait while they checked Marty out (to make double sure he wasn't a security risk, as he was going to work for Raphael, on secret military contracts).
I remember once, visiting him with my wife Roni, at his apartment in Haifa which he described as "like living in Switzerland' and it was indeed situated in a forest-like area, which would resemble what he thought Switzerland was like.We talked about his job.
He made it his job initially to collect all the mounds of paperwork needed to get payment on American contracts (it seems the Israelis were only interested in doing the work contracted for, and ignored what was necessary to get paid on the contracts). He finally succeeded in collecting and creating all the paperwork needed, and sending it off for payment (which was received in due course) and in preparing a manual future American contract collection.
He always marveled at the fact that the engineers he worked with were only interested in producing the best possible product (even to exceeding the specifications, or what paperwork would be necessary to receive payment).
He loved his new friends and his new country, and once he settled into the Israeli way of doing things, he was a true Israeli, and it was something he never lost sight of even when he went back to America.
My wife and sons and I will miss him.  Raphael and all those he worked with will miss him, and Israel will miss him.

i have fond memories of marty growing up & later on fishing with him on lake erie, mom & dad thought the world of him, he was a good man & i'll miss him, his smile & the twinkle in his eye.

Martin was in the army with our dad.  When our mom passed away a couple of years ago, he unexpectedly paid a shiva call.  He sat with us and told us stories of how much my dad was in love with our mom and how much he wanted to marry her. What a kind thing for him to do and it meant so much to our family. May his memory be a blessing.

I  knew Martin from The Mandel JCC.  I would welcome him every morning and admired him so much for his dedication to working out in the fitness center. I will miss seeing him.    
May he rest in peace.
