Matt's gentleness, his contagious laugh, his intelligence, his kindness - these are the traits that come to mind when we remember him from Mt. Sinai days. Our condolences to Ruth and the whole family,

As most know, Matt was a world class researcher, educator, editor and writer - but, more importantly, also one of the kindest and most considerate among world class gentlemen. As my mentor for 25+ years, I could not possibly imagine working with a better boss nor having a better friend. His love affair with Ruth was an inspiration for us all. We shall greatly miss him, but the memories will never die.

In a large group of people, if you ever wanted to find Matt, all you had to do was to listen for the laughter.  Matt was usually at the center of that laughter.  With his charming ways and ever present twinkle, he brought so much joy to his family and friends. His sweet ways make my heart smile in memory of him.  Love to Ruthie and the family....

I only knew Matt in his later years, but it was obvious that through all his academic accomplishments, there was no pretense about him. Matt demonstrated to me that his proudest moments were those with his family.  My condolences to Ruth and family.

Matt was a great inspiration to me years ago at Mt. Sinai. He was the total embodiment of integrity and mentoring in medical research. Although I have not seen Matt in quite a few years I cannot forget his kindness and support early in my career. My deep condolences to Ruthie  and his family.

Matt will be sorely missed.  He was a light, a leader and inspiration to all of us in Cardiology at Mt Sinai and CWRU.

Matt Levy exemplified the great staff at the Mount Sinai Medical Center.  He was an outstanding physician,teacher,leader, and friend.  Thank you Matt.
