Dear Sheryl, I am so sorry for your loss.  You and your family are in my prayers.

I haven't seen Melissa in so many years, but I still see her face as an 8th grader at Agnon. I have so many great memories of what a kind, happy, funny person she was. I really loved joking around with her. I am devastated to hear about your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Sheryl and Dennis,

We want you to know that we truly believe Melissa was a gift given to our family during the last months of her life.  We can only hope that we were a gift to her in return.  She will forever be remembered by Samantha, Sophia and David.  We all loved her and she touched our lives deeply in the short time we knew her. Sherryl,
The pain of losing a child is incomprehensible by someone that has not experienced it. There are no words  to describe it. I have tried several times to explain the feeling of loss and despair that followed the death of  a child but I don't think I have ever managed to completely convey it to anyone. 
When the shock and numbness lessen, a much deeper pain settles in. Once her loss became a part of the past to most, the cold shock of a  new reality became stronger. Everyone's life will go back to normal, each and everyone one of the people around you, will go  back to their normalcy.
With your loss, normalcy is gone. You will  go through this long and arduous journey of learning to live life without someone you cherished, and at the same time, you have to be strong to continue living, not only for your son, but as well for Melissa.
It is a very painful situation to be in, but, faith, love and the knowledge that she is home will carry you through the hardest times.
Time, that will heal your pain, and the memories you have will carry on forever.
I can tell you that, because I am still going through the struggle of loosing a child.
