Mike…my good friend for over twenty-six years. Sure going to miss you buddy!
Mike & I became good friends back in the Phoenix Roadrunners days of our careers. We not only worked together, but also enjoyed a mutual respect for each other, and became excellent friends. Good times, not so good times. Serious times, and the many, many fun times! We experienced them all!
After the hockey days, Mike and my family stayed in very close contact. He would give us the gift of his presence at many holiday dinners, or just casual weekends. If you needed someone to listen…Mike was the person. He also felt very comfortable asking about things that had worked out well for us.
After we moved out of state a few years ago, Mike and I used very frequent emails to find out what was going on with each other. His most recent were congratulations on an engagement, best wishes for the holidays, and just last weekend, compliments on a wedding. I had returned the best wishes on the new bistro and its success, along with a request for a reservation the next time I return to Phoenix. I am now very, very serious about the reservation!
I, for one of many, will miss Mike for his quiet nature, honesty, humor and total devotion to friendships with those who were fortunate enough to know him.
