Sherry and I were very sorry to hear of Michael's passing.  We have very fond memories of chatting with him frequently at King library when we were all at Miami U.  A wonderful guy.  My sincere condolences to you, Audrey, and to your family.

Michael Weiss and I shared so many athletic memories together, beginning with little league baseball, where both our fathers were managers for several years.     We  were teammates on the Beachwood High School basketball team for two years and teammates on the high school baseball team for three years.   My fondest memories were playing summer baseball together for two summers in the Cleveland Amateur Baseball league.   Michael would pick me up for practices and games in his red Chevy convertible and since most games were in the far west side of Cleveland, we had a lot of time to talk about sports and life.   We were the only Jewish kids in the entire program and we acquitted ourselves quite well.   Michael was an outstanding pitcher but an even finer person.   He made it clear that family and friends were everything to him, and the impact he had on me was powerful.    I will miss him greatly, especially that infectious smile. A truly extraordinary high school athlete – we'll always remember and marvel at his very many dramatic strikeouts – Michael's smile, his warmth, his joy, his excitement for Cleveland sports teams, and his love of people and life made literally every encounter with him sweet and uplifting and will always be with us. 

This loss is felt by all who knew him and deeply shared by those fortunate enough to have known him well and for a long time.

It makes me sad to  hear of Michael’s passing. We have known each other since fifth grade. Michael and I spoke a while ago, and agreed that from Little League to our annual Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl games in my backyard, we had some good times.  I’ll always remember you as a good friend, and the fun we shared. Thank you for those memories—they’ll stay with me forever.  My deepest condolences to your family and everyone who loved you.

The world has most certainly lost one of the truly good guys.  Michael and I go back to 6th grade where I met him for the first  time and we lived near each other close to the high school.  I had a crush on him for a long time but he was always more interested in sports than girls.  It took him going away to college to meet the love of his life and Audrey was the lucky  woman to win his heart.  I only saw Michael a few times here and there through the years but he was always someone I would have loved to run into.  Ironically I had been thinking about him lately.  The world turns in mysterious ways.  I am so sorry for this huge loss for Audrey and his family - he had the blessing of many grandchildren and I have no doubt he was a fun and loving grandfather.  Gone way too soon but will always be remembered through memories and everlasting love.

The Bison Community really lost one of their Best in Michael. A true Mensch. When we crossed paths, which happened more when he lived in Beachwood, he was always smiling and we would catch up with families and friends, like we saw each other every week. I was Michaels teammate all through high school. He had such an infectious laugh and when he thought something was funny his whole face lit up. Michael and I traveled to basketball camps in upstate NY and somewhere in Virginia which involved changing buses in downtown D.C. wonderful friend.
