

Muriel “Micki” Lee Epstein Brook passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio, just 17 days shy of her 92nd birthday. A longtime member of Park Synagogue, Micki spent 70 meaningful years in the Cleveland community, most recently residing at The Ashton in Mayfield Heights. Born on December 3, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, Micki was the beloved daughter of the late Anne [Bernstein] and Samuel Epstein. She grew up in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and later attended The Ohio State University, where she nurtured her lifelong love of learning, curiosity, and creativity.
Micki was a devoted wife to her late husband, Marvin, for 39 years. She was the loving mother of Jeffrey Fingerhut [the late Maryann Fingerhut] and Gary Fingerhut (Nancy, and the late Nancy Fingerhut), and the caring stepmother of Brad and Roger Brook, Ellen Brook [Mike]. She was the proud grandmother of Sarah Bostelman [Bill], Chelsea Fingerhut, David Fingerhut [Danielle], Brian Fingerhut [Jillian], Jennifer Soble [Matt], Adam Fingerhut [Julia], Eve Fingerhut, and Ezra Fingerhut; the grandmother of Brandon Brook and Gabrielle Brook; and the delighted great-grandmother of Noah, Sonny, Drew, Roman, Mila, Dean, Miles, Aiden, and Oakley. Her family was her greatest joy, and her warmth, encouragement, and humor touched each generation. Throughout her life, Micki enjoyed a vibrant career. She was a dedicated mother, talk show host, author, and teacher—roles that reflected her gift for communication and her passion for connecting with others. She also studied cooking in France, an experience that fueled her passion for the culinary arts. Micki was an avid reader, a world traveler, and a woman whose lively spirit and intellectual curiosity enriched the lives of all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel, followed by burial at Bet Olam Cemetery.
