Gimp graduated from Shaker Heights High School and later attended University of Wisconsin and after serving in the navy, he completed his undergraduate degree at Dartmouth where he played quarterback.  He later completed a master's degree at Case Western University. Gimp spent his personal life building, and nurturing family which included his friendships, many lasting 80 years.   He was an avid runner and an early proponent of regular and strenuous exercise long before it became fashionable and he loved golfing with his friends.  He coached high school and college football before becoming an accomplished real estate developer and insurance agent.  He also built and operated a nursing home employing his father-in-law where together they ran a business but created yet another family.  Gimp was larger than life to those he knew him.  He was very bright but unpretentious preferring to donate his time and money quietly.  He much preferred a simple game a golf, a quick lunch and lots of joking around with the guys to any fancy dinner night out where he would have to don a suit and tie.  We’re pretty sure he still has some old high school clothes in the closet which still fit him until the end.

Toni and Family, I was saddened to hear about that ultra cute/cool guy that I used to work out next to at Beechmont. We used to talk and laugh and he was truly someone to admire and look up to. What a dear sweet man. My condolences to your entire family. My prayers are with you.

Very sorry to hear of his passing. My first job in real estate in 1972 was with Gimp and Danny Rocker. He was a real mentor and I used his advice over the years in Atlanta as a developer.

"Dear Fromson Family, My deepest sympathies on the passing of your loving father and husband. He truly was a great and very personable man.
I have alot of fond memories of your dad coming over to our house for parties, always taking the time to say Hi to me with a big warm smile. And of
course Gimpy lots of funnies stories as well. I enjoyed growing up around the kids too, and attended Malvern Elementary with a few of them. You guys are in my prayers. "

Dear Fromson Family,
How our family loved Uncle Gimp. He was a true friend of my late father, Al Roberts. Stephie, remember I coached you in Aqua Gems at Byron? Patti and Polly, my Mom was close to your Mom years and years ago. Our family has moved to Columbus and I just found out tonight about your Dad's passing. Please give Sue hugs from Gay Roberts. Gimp was so full of life and happiness. What a smile, and those sparkling blue eyes. He always had a big heartfelt hug for me whenever I saw him, which was much too infrequently.
My sympathy to all of you, Cindy Roberts Elson

Dear Sue,

We were deeply saddened by the news. Gimpy was a very special person even back in the high school days.We have often inquired about him even though we were no longer in Cleveland. Please extend our sympathy to your wonderful family.

Dear Fromson Family,
I have many fond memories of Mr. Fromson starting with my caddying days at Beechmont Country Club. Mr. Fromson was always interested in all my school endeavors and how I was doing on my high school, sport teams. I had the pleasure and honor of working with Mr. Fromson and Dr. Rocker on one of their real estate projects in the 90's. I also had the pleasure of playing golf with both of them as a guest at Beechmont Country Club. I learned a great deal about business and life from Mr. Fromson. My prayers are with the Fromson family. God Bless
