Mona Roman, a strong and deeply loving mother, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at the age of 81. She was a woman whose toughness was matched only by the depth of her love, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, care, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Born on March 21, 1945, in Cleveland, Mona graduated from Mayfield High School, carrying with her the determination and strength that would define her life. She built meaningful relationships both personally and professionally, always showing up for others with honesty, strength, and compassion.
Before dedicating herself fully to her family, Mona worked as a supervisor for Ohio Bell, where she was known for her strong work ethic and the genuine care she gave to everyone around her. She later became a stay-at-home mother, a role she embraced with her whole heart. She was tough when she needed to be, protective in every sense, and deeply loving in ways that shaped her children’s lives forever.
Mona was the kind of mother who never missed a school function, always present, always cheering, always there. She listened without judgment through every high and low her children faced, offering steady support and unconditional love. She also found joy in bowling with her friends, where her laughter and spirit shone just as brightly as her strength did at home.
Her love only grew as her family did. She was an incredible grandmother who supported and cherished each of her grandchildren, making them feel seen, loved, and protected. Her presence in their lives will always be felt.
Mona had a rare gift for caring for family, friends, and anyone lucky enough to know her. Her strength guided, her presence comforted, and her love held everything together.
She is survived by her husband Lawrence, children Bryan (wife Michelle), Yael (husband Samuel), and Michelle as well as her loving grandchildren Gedalyahu, Razili, Yaffa, Penuella, Bella, Tzafra, Jagger, and Everly. She is also survived by her siblings Susan Cobb (husband Leon), Hal Corbe (wife Kathy), and sister-in-law Carol and all whose lives she touched.
She is predeceased by her parents, Gertrude and Lewis Corbe and her brother Wayne.
Her family will remember her for her strength, her sacrifices, and the deep, unwavering love she gave so freely.
A service to honor Mona’s life will be held at 11:00 am on June 14 at the Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel, 1985 South Taylor Road, Cleveland Heights, OH. Interment to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Solon.
