NANCY ELLEN HERMAN (nee Burkons), 81; Born September 30, 1936; passed away on March 14, 2018. She is predeceased by her parents Jerome and Lenore Burkons and daughter Deborah Herman. A lifelong Clevelander, Nancy was a graduate of Heights High School and remained friendly with many of her high school classmates to her last days. Before raising her ever-growing family, she was a medical assistant for the offices of Drs. Herman, Freed and Winograd. After raising four children, she was an active member of the Suburban Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and Gift shop. Ever the creative and artistic person, she was always the consummate party planner and centerpiece designer. An accomplished cook and chef, her sons fondly remember their family Shabbat dinners growing up. Nancy is survived by her sister Barbara Udelson, her sons Michael (Ann), Daniel (Paula) and Richard (Jill), grandchildren Lindsay (Ricky) Marcus, Abbe, Carly (Jordan, fiancé), Halle, Emily, Amanda and Hannah and great grandchildren Jaryn and Arlo.
Funeral services will be held at BERKOWITZ-KUMIN-BOOKATZ MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1985 S. TAYLOR RD., CLEVELAND HTS. on Sunday, March 18th at 12:00 pm. Interment at Zion Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends SUNDAY FOLLOWING SERVICES UNTIL 8 PM, MONDAY FROM 1-5 PM AND 7-9 PM at the home of Daniel and Paula Herman, 2844 Kersdale Rd., Pepper Pike.
The family will receive friends ON TUESDAY FROM 1-4 PM AND 6-8 PM at the home of Michael and Ann Herman, 6747 Ayleshire Drive, Solon, AND AT 6 PM at the home of Richard and Jill Herman, 4121 Belmont Place, New Albany. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
