Norman A Flate

Norman Allen Flate loving husband, devoted family man and skilled electrician. Passed away peacefully on January 28th 2026 at the age of 86. Born on February 26th, 1939 , in Cleveland Ohio to George and Ann Flate.   Known for his strong  work ethic, and willingness to help , he took great pride in his trade. Above all else, Norman cherished his family. He was a devoted husband  for 26 years to Bonnie . He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie Flate, his children Michelle Haines , and Brionne (Juan) Ayala. Devoted grandchildren, Matthew Haines and Alyssa Haines , and his sister Marilyn Solomon. Preceded in death by Joyce Lertzman (Ronnie) , Linda Schwartz ( Earl) , Sharon Kran  (Lee), and Sam Solomon his brother in law , as well as  his daughter Jodi Flate (Steve)  Marton. Also survived by his son Steve Flate ( Barbara) and  daughter Lisa (Jeff) Galinovsky. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins ,and cherished friends.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday February 1st, at 1:30 pm at Berkowitz-Kumin Bookatz Memorial Chapel. To view this service, please scroll down to the Services Section and click on "JOIN LIVESTREAM".

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jewish Family Service Association (jfsa.org).

Shiva will be observed at Sherri Park Apartment first floor, 2111 Acacia Park Drive, Lyndhurst Ohio. Sunday 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Monday 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
