Dear Carolyne,
We have not been in town for awhile and did not know that Paul died. I am so sorry to hear such sad news. I think it is more than obvious how much I enjoy coming into your store . In addition to your good taste,  the  warm,friendly environment created by both of you has made it  the only place I go to when shopping for linens and accessories. . Please know I am thinking about you and  am sending my deepest sympathy!

Dear Carolyn, Seth and Todd, your loss is ours, we already miss Paul so very very much and until we meet again we are going to miss him more. I can not forget the great time we had together wether paying tennis at my house fighting for the right call, or going out to dinner like we used to do, even in the worst snow blizzard, or in New York drinking martinis and singing in the street " La La La "like a little kids. Simply Paul can not be replaced nor can be forgotten. RIP my friend I love you very much. Carolyn hang in there, we love you and you know he is looking over you every day.

My deepest condolences to cousin Carolyn and all family.  Paul was truly a one of a kind, special human. I cherish the times we'd all share together; Whether it be in the backyard for a pool party or at Jackie and Dickies for dinners or get-togethers,  he'd always make sure my brother and I had a great time around him. As I became an adult, he'd always strike up interesting conversations, give solid advice and still find time to make me laugh each time we'd reconnect. Even though he wasn't blood related to my brother and I, we always viewed him as the uncle we never had. He will be sincerely missed but never forgotten.

I have had the honor of working with Paul and Carolyn for many years. I use the word honor deliberately because Paul always treated me with respect, warmth and humor no matter how little I knew about what I was doing. Like others at Matouk, I always looked forward to visits from Carolyn and Paul at trade shows, where Carolyn would do the hard work of finding beautiful products for their customers and Paul would do the easier job of shooting the breeze with me or educating our team about the history of the industry or updating us about the occasional triumphs of Cleveland sports. Standing on your feet at the Javits Center for 4 days had its challenges, but Paul's visits made all the pain worthwhile.
We will miss you.

Dear Carolyne and all the family,

Paul will be greatly missed throughout our industry.   It was always a pleasure to hear the smile in his voice over the years.   I am honored to have worked with him for 25+ years and could always count on him to fair and upbeat.

It was lovely and touching to hear the tributes paid to him by the family and especially the grand children today.   He truly was the model of a man that the boys can strive to emulate.

I have the fondest memories of Paul.  He always had a welcoming smile on his face that illuminated his contagious sense of humor.  Paul was our favorite baby sitter growing up as kids.  Before our parents would leave for the evening they made us go to bed when Paul arrived.  As soon as they pulled out of the driveway, Paul would call us down and hang with us as friends and make the evening a blast. I always made a point to visit him at his store whenever I visited Cleveland from Chicago to feel his warmth, see his smiling face and share a laugh.  May his memory be a blessing.  


My heart goes out to the Bloch family. I work closely with Paul's son, Todd and had the pleasure of hearing stories of his father and his entrepreneurial spirit! Sending all of his family and friends healing energy and love. 

I have several memories of Paul during our baseball days as kids.  As a catcher Paul was fearless and often stepped in front of the plate while the batter was swinging in order to pick someone off first or second or to head off someone trying steal home plate.  Always fun to be with, always with a big smile.  Lovely memories!

Uncle Paul and my brother have been best of buddies for over 60 years. I never saw Paul without a kind word towards the “kid”brother and always a smile. He was a great audience and a true friend of the family.. I will remember his welcoming greeting and his awesome laugh.
