Phil graduated from Miami University in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science in Business degree. He was a Certified Public Accountant for more than 50 years, maintaining his own practice since 1982.
An avid golfer, Phil was especially proud of his hole-in-one, which famously overshadowed Marge’s first birdie earlier in the same round. He was known for arriving at social gatherings with a good joke and truly loved making people laugh. As a lifelong Clevelander, Phil was an avid Cleveland sports fan, especially the Browns. He once served as President of the Cleveland Hebrew Schools. In his later years, he enjoyed working out and singing with the Solon Senior Center, performing at their events. Above all else, nothing made him happier than seeing or talking with his grandchildren and their partners. He wore his “World’s Best Grandpa” sweatshirt proudly.
Funeral services will be private. The family will receive friends at the Rudary residence, 33560 Arlesford Drive, Solon, Ohio, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28th
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, Cleveland Ronald McDonald House, or the charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements were made under the supervision of Berkowitz Kumin Bookatz Memorial Chapel.
