Does anyone have a copy of the caricature that Phyllis drew of the staff at the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission?  I have a copy and wanted to post it here, but I haven't found my copy yet.  -- Bob Brown (citybobbrown@gmail.com)


I had the great pleasure of working with Phyllis from 1977 onward at the Cuyahoga County Regional Planning Commission while we were based in The Old Arcade .  I thoroughly enjoyed her humor which often came with a sly half-smile. She prevailed as the office "calm" during stressful times.  She maintained the thick office dictionary (yep, pre-digital age) and served as our skilled proofreader.  While not always recognized in print, she had her personal stamp of editorial review on virtually all office publications.   Her wildly representative caricatures of the diverse office personnel were posted on the bulletin board (back when this could be done) and were a true hoot (for most of us anyway)!  In particular, I smile while recalling the sketch you posted of yourself ( a striking resemblance to the iconic Farrah Fawcett swimsuit poster).

Phyllis, although forty years have passed, I remember many moments shared with you like they were yesterday.  I will miss you.

I worked with Phyllis at the Cuyahoga County Regional Planning Commission from 1976 to 1985.  No matter what challenges the office was facing, Phyllis remained a steady and trusted participant in our work.  

I always valued her competence and her good-natured counsel.  I've thought about Phyllis often and fondly in the decades since I left the Planning Commission.  

All of us loved her caricature drawings.  She was a talented artist, with a great sense of humor.
