

Phyllis Rotman, 95, passed away peacefully at home on January 10th. Phyllis was the daughter of Alex and Esther Crystal and devoted sister of the late Rosie (Harry) Artman and the late Shirley (Mitchell) Rosenberg. She was predeceased by husbands Morton H. Marks, Albert “Sonny” Reimer and S. Lee Rotman. Phyllis was an early founder of the Mt. Sinai Hospital Flower Mart and a long-time employee of Berger-Silver Jewelers, where she enjoyed fond relationships with co-workers and customers. She was an ardent art and plant lover. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her endless happiness. She sincerely appreciated the loving care and kindness of her neighbors and staff at her Beachwood residence. In particular, she was so very thankful for the loving care from her long-time aide, Nadine Proffit. She is survived by children Ellen Marks and Jeffrey (Laurie) Marks, granddaughter Madeline (Patrick) Lingwall, grandson Douglas Marks, and great-grandson, Henry Lingwall; family of Sonny Reimer; and the family of S. Lee Rotman: Paul (Donna) Rotman, Dennis (Margie) Rotman, and Ellen R. Green, and was devoted grandmother to Melissa Rotman Nelson (the late Tim Nelson), Lauren (Corey) Sweat, Sarah Rotman, Kelly (Chris) Baskin, Holly (Owen) Ashworth, Michael (Michelle Simakis) Rotman, Charles Green and the late Gideon Green, and devoted great-grandmother to Harper and Sam Nelson, Cole Sweat, Bo Baskin, Roe and Twila Ashworth and Madeleine Rotman. She also cherished her many Artman, Rosenberg and Greitzer nieces and nephews and their families. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics (https://support.specialolympics.org) and Jewish Family Services (jfsa-cleveland.org). Family-only service will be held Wednesday, January 14th, at Mount Olive Cemetery. Friends may call at Point East Community Room on January 14th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and Thursday, January 15th from 9:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
