Robert "Bob" L. Stovsky

Beloved husband of the late Alyce Stovsky (nee Bresin); devoted father of Richard (Betsy) Stovsky of Chagrin Falls, OH, Sharon (Rick) Stein of Boca Raton, FL, Dr. Mark (Shannon) Stovsky of Beachwood, OH and Michael (Jill) Stovsky of Beachwood, OH; loving grandfather of Katherine (Matthew) Porath, Brian (Isabel) Stovsky, Lexi (Jake Simon) Stovsky, Matthew Stovsky, Tyler Stovsky, Adam Stovsky, Jennifer Stovsky, Jacob Stovsky, Jeffrey (Rachel) Stein, Elizabeth (Matthew) Newman, Amy (John) Clark, and Lauren Stein; cherished great-grandfather of John Robert, PJ, Noa, Zachary, Andrew, Ryan, and Nick.

Bob was a graduate of Glenville High School and, after serving in the U.S. Army and attending Fenn College and Kent State University, embarked on a sales career. He retired in 2005 after an award winning and distinguished 45-year career with NCH Corporation of Irving, Texas.

Bob was an officer of University Heights Masonic Lodge #738 and the long-time Editor of its “Rays” publication, and served on the Board of Community Temple and the Camp Wise Committee of the J.C.C. In addition, Bob, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, coached all of his kids in youth sports, and never missed a sporting event, dance recital, theater performance, or band concert for his kids or grandchildren.

He was fluent in Yiddish and, more recently, shared his love of Yiddish by creating and leading a monthly Yiddish class at Stone Gardens, and he cherished his weekly lunches with the Romeo’s (Retired Old Men Eating Out).

Funeral services for Robert were held at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel, 1985 S Taylor Rd, Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44118 on Monday, August 26, 2024. Military Honors at 11:00 AM followed by a memorial service by Forest City Masonic Lodge No. 388. Funeral services will begin immediately following the Masonic service.

Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, 27855 Aurora Rd., Solon, Ohio 44139.

The family will receive friends following burial until 9 PM at the Mayfield Country Club, 1545 Sheridan Rd, South Euclid, OH 44121.
