

Robyn Paige Novick, a cherished mother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and dedicated Jewish educator, peacefully passed away on July 19th, 2026. She was born in Washington, D.C., daughter to Peter Novick and Judith Sapir. Robyn earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and earned a master’s degree in Jewish Studies from the Siegel College of Jewish Studies.
Throughout her life, Robyn was deeply committed to Jewish community, education, and faith. She worked for Hillel in Rochester, NY, before moving to Ohio. In 1999, she met Andy Oster, and they were married on August 31st, 2003. That same year, Robyn relocated to Ohio to serve as an assistant educational director at Temple Emanu El. She later dedicated over 20 years of her life to Kol Halev, a community she held close to her heart. Robyn’s passion for Judaism was evident from childhood, spending her summers at Camp Moshava, living on a kibbutz in Israel, and her unwavering work and dedication to the Cleveland Jewish community. She spent her days integrating her professional and family life together through joy, faith and tradition.
Robyn is survived by her beloved husband, Andy Oster; her children, Eilan, Aryeh, and Asher Oster; her parents, mother Judith Sapir, father Peter Novick, and her stepmother Diane Sondheimer; her sisters, Marsha Novick (John Sheffield), Sondra Wolff (Evan Wolff), and Danielle Novick. She is also survived by her nephews William, Timothy, Benjamin Sheffield, and Skyler Wolff.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 21st at noon, at the Berkowitz Kumin Bookatz Memorial Chapel, located at 1985 S. Taylor Road, Cleveland Heights. Shiva will be observed at the Oster/Novick residence, 5635 Saddle Lane, Solon, OH. Shiva hours are from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, and on Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
