

Ronald Newman, age 81, passed away earlier this week. He was the beloved owner and official taste tester of Chocolate Emporium, a business he cherished alongside his wife, Eleanor, and children, Stacy and Keith, serving the community with delightful sweets for over 30 years.
Ron and Eleanor met as teenagers at Heights High School and shared a life together for nearly 60 years. A proud graduate of Miami University, Ron worked as a dedicated accountant in solo practice for several decades while also helping run Chocolate Emporium. He was a true people person, enjoying conversations with customers and friends alike.
In his leisure time, Ron loved fishing, boating, and volunteering as an Usher at the Cleveland Orchestra and with the Shaker Heights Rotary Club. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; daughter, Stacy (Tom Sayers) Newman; son, Keith Newman; and is predeceased by his sister, Seraine Newman.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 28th at 1:00 pm at Mount Olive Cemetery, 27855 Aurora Road, Solon, OH.
The Shiva will take place at the community room of the Ashton, 6200 Landerhaven Drive, Mayfield Heights, OH, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cleveland Orchestra or the Alzheimer’s Association, Cleveland chapter.
