

Roslyn Malvyn Sokol Seed passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
Born to Samuel and Ida Sokol, Roslyn was a lifelong learner and devoted educator. She graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School and earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Kent State University. She dedicated her career to teaching elementary school students in the Akron City Schools, Cleveland City Schools, and Warrensville Heights City Schools.
Roslyn was an avid reader who found great joy in music, the arts, and lifelong learning. She especially loved the Cleveland Orchestra, art history, and was deeply connected to the Jewish community. She was a past member of Temple Israel in Akron and a current member of Congregation Mishkan Or.
She is survived by her beloved sons, David Seed (Dorit) and Eric Seed (Ellen); and her cherished grandchildren, Miranda Seed, Penina Seed, and Margot Seed.
Roslyn was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Ida Sokol; her beloved husband, Ralph Seed; and her infant brother, Sheridan Lawrence Sokol.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Mayfield Cemetery.
The family will receive friends during shiva at the home of David and Dorit Seed, 22612 Westchester Road, Shaker Heights, Ohio on Thursday, July 2, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.; Friday, July 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, July 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Mishkan Or or the Cleveland Orchestra.
