beloved wife of Bruce (deceased); loving mother of Judith (Stuart Simms) Waxman and Susan (Mark) Ringel; devoted Nana of Carly (Jordan) Dolberg, Ashley Waxman, Bradley (Dr. Brittany Levy) Ringel and Richard (Amy Levey) Ringel; adored GG of Sienna, Maya, Teddy, Nate and Wren; loving step-grandmother of Dr. Lindsey (Dr. Amy) Green-Simms, Kimberly (Bobby) Israel, Carly (Jeff) David and Dr. Alexandra ( Dr. Adam Hussein) Simms; cherished aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt, and devoted friend to many. Sandy was dear sister of the late Sheldon (Bette) Young, sister-in-law of the late Nelson (Marjorie) Stern, the late Royce, and the late Sterling (Shirley) Stern, and the late Margie Young. Beloved daughter of Ray and Jack Young, niece of Clara Sills, and granddaughter of Sarah Goldenberg.

Sandy was an extraordinary woman who lived every day as a celebration. She took pride in her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had an accomplished career as a financial comptroller for Kaye & Silver Brokerage.

Sandy loved to laugh, to socialize, and to share good times with those she loved, almost every night of the week, all while being the best-dressed lady in any room. She was extraordinarily independent until recent weeks. We will all miss our “Dear,” with her big brown eyes and bright smile. We thank Sandy’s caregivers, Jaria, Kenya and Stephanie and Hospice of the Western Reserve.

Donations to the National Council of Jewish Women/Cleveland, to the Ruth Lee Designer Dress Days Fund; and Congregation Mishkan Or, to the Rabbi Caruso Discretionary Fund.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14 at Berkowitz Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel. Interment at Mayfield Cemetery.
