Sanford R. Barcus

SANFORD R. BARCUS beloved husband of Evelyn (nee Aronoff); loving father of Judy (Michael) Feinstein, Jane (Mark) Sedley, Bob (Aida) Barcus and Ken (Ellen) Barcus; devoted grandfather of Dan (Robyn) and Steve (Wendy) Feinstein, David (Jane) and Aaron Sedley, Julia, Kate and Miriam Barcus; great grandfather of Rachel, Sophie and Ben; dear brother of the late Gertrude Henkin and Vivian Handler. Former co-owner of Aronoff's clothing store in downtown Cleveland. He was a Master gardener who loved to share the bounty of his harvest. Diehard Browns and Indians fan-attended both the first and last Indians game held at Municipal Stadium. Fitness fanatic-exercised at JCC for more than half a century. Figure skated at the Elysium Skating Club into his 90's. Loved to write about his travels, both overseas and domestic. Regularly took long car trips across the country or to Canada seeking out festivals. Services will be held Thursday, June 2 at 3P.M. at the BERKOWITZ-KUMIN-BOOKATZ MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1985 S. Taylor Rd., Cleveland Hts. Family will receive friends at the Community Center of The Hampton, 27040 Cedar Rd., THURSDAY FOLLOWING SERVICES AND FRIDAY AT THE RESIDENCE 27060 Cedar Rd., Beachwood UNTIL 4 P.M.
