An era has passed.   Growing up, Sandy seemed SO tall.  During our pre-k and early elementary years, there was rarely a time when we little ones didn't know exactly what Sandy thought.  Scary at 1/3 of his size.

Over the years, Sandy mellowed (a little anyway), but his classy style and always telling it like it is offered lessons for me.  Certainly, sometimes we are supposed to not be quite so frank - others might be offended.   But Sandy seemed to approach life to be "this is who I am, this is what I think" and I found that to be refreshing and learned to appreciate honesty, for better or worse.  

Sandy- thanks for the years, your inimitable style that was always your very own, for your children who have been my life long friends and offering your honest views on life and people.

Please accept my condolences on behalf of me and my late mother and father (Shirley/Leonard Glassman).  As you may recall, my mother was the bookkeeper for your father’s store, Turney Pharmacy.  While it’s close to 50 years, I remember when your Dad built his new store and everyone was moving the merchandise across the street to the new store in shopping carts.  He may not have realized it at the time, but I believe that store that included a jewelry counter and bakery was the concept used by Revco (now CVS) after they purchased your dad’s store to build the larger box pharmacy stores with more products.  In addition, to being the bookkeeper, our parents were friends outside of work socialized with many of the same friends.  I remember when I was still home, your dad would always make a point of stopping by our house to see my mom when he would visit Cleveland after moving away.  I know if my mom was around today, she would say your dad was a wonderful and charismatic person.
