There are many memories of Sharon that my husband and I share since we met her in 1968 at Eastern Michigan University.  Parties, classes, restaurants, camping trips and many more.  The two that stand out the most are making tamales at our house with our family and friends and jigsaw puzzles.  
Sharon was always up for tamale making waiting for the next gig.  And the intermittent exchange of jigsaw puzzles was our excuse to get together.  I always regretted living so far from each other but she was never daunted by a little distance.  In fact nothing ever seemed to daunt her.  
Not only was she the bravest person I know but also the funniest. Her sense of humor always made it a delight to talk with her.  We shall miss her terribly.

I remember meeting Sharon when I was a teenager. She and her wonderful parents were very close dear friends of my husband’s family, and Sharon and my husband Bruce were childhood friends and beyond. Over the years we communicated  intermittently but the bond was as if no time had lapsed! Bruce passed away in June.
May her kind soul Rest In Peace and her memory be for a blessing.

Sharon was a dear friend of my sister, Donna  Levin, since childhood in South Euclid. We took the friendship over when my sister passed about 10 years ago. Sharon’s cat and my sister’s cat, Sebastian, were said to have long distance tea parties via the phone long before Zoom was invented. She seemed like such a strong person dealing with health setbacks along the way. Sadly, Sebastian passed away as well last month at about 18. R.I.P. Sharon.

Sharon has been my closest and dearest friend for over 40 years. I'm deeply saddened by her passing. She has always been there for me and my family.

Sharon was an amazing person. She was kind, loving, warm and nurturing. She had a rare and special gift of connecting with people in a real and genuine way, making a difference in their lives. She cared deeply for people. She was someone you could always count on to listen, offer good advise and comfort.

She was the strongest person I've ever known.She displayed tremendous courage and strength when faced with serious health problems. She had such a positive attitude and strong faith everything would be ok.

When I was faced with serious health problems, Sharon's courage and resilience were my inspiration. She was my hero. She listened to me, offered guidance and support, and helped me get through it.

Thank you for the  many beautiful memories and your loving friendship.

Sharon was truly an extraordinary person, both admirable and exceptional in so many ways. She displayed unbelievable strength and resilience in overcoming huge health hurdles while still maintaining a positive outlook. She also demonstrated an unselfish interest in others and was a wellspring of valuable advice derived from many years of experience.

I was Sharon’s serious boyfriend in kindergarten, the start of a beautiful friendship that endured 70 years!  In recent times we were separated in space, but closely joined by many shared memories and interests, a notable example being our experiences at some of Cleveland’s great restaurants. Food was a favorite topic. We communicated often.

As a teacher and counselor, Sharon’s life revolved around her students, while, as a space scientist and astronomer, mine was focused on research. Both our careers had value, but I consider Sharon’s more significant.  She touched the lives of her students in a very important way, and, in return, earned their love and respect.
 
Sharon loved the challenge of working difficult jigsaw puzzles. Research in astronomy has remarkably similar challenges and rewards.  The analogies are intriguing.
 
We also shared a love and respect for our non-human friends, recognizing that these creatures often display the qualities of character that we often wished humans possessed.
 
I personally feel a tremendous sense of loss. I believe that Sharon serves as a sterling example of what is best in people.

Miss Jacobs was my Spanish teacher when I was in the 4th grade about 1967 or so at Custer School in Monroe  I have to sat that she was one of my favorite teachers of all time.  You could tell teaching was truly a passion for her
  Even after 50 years, if I were to see her in the grocery store or anywhere around town, she remembered me, and always had a smile on her face.
  The last time I saw her, she was being loaded into an ambulance,  after leaving a dialisys treatment.  I knew the attendant, so I told her to make sure she took good care of Miss Jacobs  I later talked to the attendant, and she told her stories about me.  That sure made me feel good she remembered her students from so long ago

Sharon lived to encourage, support, and show others how much they mattered to her.  Sharon was very special to my entire family. May God give you all peace as you celebrate Sharon's life and legacy.

I remembered the fun times  I had with Sharon during my therapy visits. She is tough and always doing her best to keep her independence. I remembered her shirt with the print that says,  "Color outside the lines."
You left me with good memories.

Sharon was my Spanish teacher at Cantrick Junior High in seventh and eighth grades. She was calm, kind, and patient and instilled a love for us. One of those years she translated the Four Questions from the Passover seder into Spanish for me, so I could surprise my family. I certainly did. She was the one who told me that Ohio University would be a great place for me, and her guidance, as always was spot on. She and I continued to connect now and then through the years, including recently. I treasured her spirit, warmth,  love and acceptance of all others. Rest in peace, dear teacher and friend.

Sharon and I had many conversations years ago when Jon was in high school. Aunt Sharon, as she was known to Jon, checked on him regularly.  When we weren’t talking about Jon,  she and I talked about  our faith. Her faith was strong.  My history with Sharon goes back to Monroe High School.  She loved and cared  for me and my sister Penny.  She always remembered our shared birthdays.  A wonderful person  who will be missed.   

Ms. Jacobs helped me tremendously during my 7th to 9th grade years. I was going through a very hard time then.  

I'm so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort during this time. 

Ms.Jacobs was my middle school counselor 75-76  Monroe jr high. Now called Monroe Middle school. She was so full of love and understanding, she made me fill worth something! She tried to help me understand my mom’s mental health issues and my dad who raised me strictness . She made me feel so proud to me alive, I was part of choir and got to play Snoopy, I dressed in my costume and walked me to the stage.  I felt like a million bucks. I met her again years later at Danny’s market I went up to her in parking lot and told her my name, she smile her beautiful smile and I said THANK YOU, asked if I could hug her, gave her the biggest hug I could and hoped she knew how important  she was to me. Condolences to the family. Ms. Jacobs was very helpful to me when I was starting my teaching career. She always encouraged me and I will always appreciate it.

Sharon's passing brings me great sadness.  She was such an amazing friend, teacher and mentor of mine.  She was my Spanish teacher at Cantrick Jr. High School in Monroe and it was from that point and forward that we developed a life-long friendship.  She was always there when you needed to talk to someone that would "just listen" and not judge.  I can still hear her voice as she would call me "Señorita Roja!"  My last visit with her, when I delivered handmade masks that she requested, was wonderful.  We caught up and shared some laughs and memories.  She fought everything that was thrown in her direction, but I'm sure she was tired and needed a rest.  Thanks, Sharon, for everything, but most of all, for being a part of my life that I will never forget.

I met Sharon as one of her students at Cantrick and continued our relationship through my graduation from Monroe High. Sharon was very patient - she hung in there with me during very difficult times, always kind, funny, warm. A beautiful mentor. I was grateful to have reconnected with her as an adult, although it took me a while to get comfortable calling her 'Sharon' and not Seniorita Jacobs.

I am so saddened to hear of Ms. Jacob's passing. She was my 8th grade Spanish teacher at Cantrick. She was very gifted at relating to the students; especially middle schoolers. She had a wonderful  sense of humor. I have good memories of that class. I saw her a couple of years ago when she was in a rehab facility my mother was in. I stopped in to visit with her and she remembered me after all those years. That's how she always was; very sharp lady. I'm so glad I had that visit with her. My sympathies to her family. I will always remember her fondly.

I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing.  I am 58 years old but she was my fondest memory of school.  I had a difficult home life and she offered comfort and direction in my life.  Before she retired, I stopped in to see her and we talked for hours.  May you find comfort in knowing she is at peace and she left an imprint on many people.
