

Susan Haas, age 82, peacefully passed away last week. She was lovingly raised by her mother and stepfather after the loss of her father in World War II. Susan pursued her education at Penn State University and the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University, where she thrived academically and personally.
She married her beloved husband, Gary, with whom she shared 56 wonderful years. During her husband's service in the Army, Susan demonstrated resilience and adaptability, raising her family in a military trailer at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
A passionate advocate for feminism and women's rights, Susan actively supported organizations such as NOW and NARAL. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she was involved with the Jewish National Fund and Temple Emanu El.
Susan will be deeply missed by her husband, Gary; her sons, Adam (Amalia) and Benjamin Haas; her grandchildren, Amital (Ilan) Elhanan-Haas, Elchanan, Ilan, Netta, Avraham, Aviva, Raymond, and Vivian Haas; and her great-granddaughter, Clil Elhanan-Haas.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 27th at 11:00 am at the Berkowitz Kumin Bookatz Memorial Chapel in Cleveland Heights. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, located at 26700 Aurora Road in Bedford Heights.
