





 As a child, next to my parents,Ted was the most important person in my life. He facilitated my family's move from New York to Cleveland and was a large part of our lives thereafter.
As a teenager he employed me at Turney Hardware, getting a mature consept of life, and teaching me to drive. He helped me financialy during seven years of college.
When I became a familyman he help me celebrate my joyful events and at times of loss he was there to comfort me.
Though we lived hundred of miles apart he was always close.
Now that he has passed I am not very sad for I know he was ready to go.

Uncle Ted and Aunt Lil and I got closer when my grandfather (Uncle Ted's brother Walter) passed away in 1994.  I remember playing in their back yard as a kid when they lived on Bryden in Beachwood.  When Uncle Ted was selling the house, he brought me back there, and the many memories came flooding back of spending time there.  Uncle Ted noticed a light bulb in the kitchen was burned out.  He was 93 at the time.  He walked into the garage, leaving Aunt Lil and me in the kitchen talking.  Uncle Ted comes in carrying a 6 ft ladder.  I said that he should let me change the light bulb for him.  He said, "Step away," and insisted on changing it himself.  Makes me laugh thinking about that today.  I very much loved Uncle Ted, and will always have him in my thoughts, and prayers.

I loved Ted. He was one of my grandma's best friends. I always heard stories about their friendship. At Wiggin's Place, they had a table. This included my grandma Evelyne, Ted, Lillian, Mike, and sometimes a few others. They had such a perfect friendship. I will always miss Ted. However, I will always remember him too. Rest in paradise.

Uncle Ted cared most about family.  He and Aunt Lillian were always kind and loving to me on our visits.  I am thankful for his memory of family history, leaving us an important legacy. We will miss you.

Ted was a rare man of wisdom and kindness.  We will miss our conversations with him.

Uncle Ted was a kind and true brother to my mother. He helped me to get a college education.  He was the last of the generation. I will miss him.

Ted Hirshman was a wonderful friend to our family.  My mother, Evelyne Lewis, enjoyed dinner and good conversation almost every evening with Ted and Lillian at Wiggins Place.  She always found happiness in their friendship. My daughter, Danielle, and I visited Ted and Lillian last Passover and treasure the memories of our last conversation with him.

Ted was a longtime friend and mentor. Even until his last days we stayed in touch.

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.
