It is very sad to learn the loss of a great orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Goldberg replaced both knees of my wife Nirmala in 2003 and so far she did not experience any issues. I checked the website to make an appointment with him for a follow-up but to our dismay, I found he is no more to see the patients. We truly believe he was the best in his profession and truly dedicated to patient care. Hard to find anyone like him again. May his soul rest in peace and be with God. My wife and I offer our deepest condolences to his family members.

We are grieving over the loss of our dear friend Victor.  A brilliant and wonderful  man  who loved his family, his profession and  his friends.  Together we shared many good times together whether it was dining out and enjoying great wine, being together for family celebrations, sharing ideas about books, art, politics or the practice of medicine,  vacationing on the  Vineyard and running the Chilmark Road Race or just being together. I am sad to hear of the passing of Dr. Victor Goldberg. He put a hip replacement in me in 1984 at the age of 35 and saved my leg when doctors in my hometown of Canton were going to cut my leg off. In 2005 I fell on black ice and once again he put in a new hip replacement and in 2008 a knee replacement. He was an amazing person and doctor and I will forever be grateful that GOD allowed our paths to cross in this earthly life. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I posted this on my Facebook page right after I heard that Victor had died. I knew him because of my parents and wanted to share this with all of my friends.

Cathy and I send our heartfelt condolences. The news was and still is shocking. We were just talking about the time we had dinner  with you both in Barcelona a couple of years ago (seems like yesterday).

Victor has been an influence on my career in orthopaedics since meeting him in 1973.  I have had the  pleasure of spending many great times from surgery, skiing,  sailing in Jamaica  to many meetings all over the world. He always encouraged me in my career and will be both a personal and professional loss.

Cathy and I cannot imagine not seeing you both at the annual AAOS meeting and spending time catching up.

The world of medicine and orthopaedics has moved forward as a result of Victor's participation. Cathy and I feel blessed to have had you both in our lives and we will miss Victor but will never forget his friendship.

I worked with Dr. Goldberg for over 32 years.  He was one of the most compassionate and intelligent people I think I will ever know. Harriet, Rebecca, Jonathon and Eden, Victor was brilliant as a surgeon; a scientist; a teacher; an administrator; a mentor and in every aspect of his professional life. None of that equaled his accomplishments as a husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He helped save the life of my newborn daughter 41 years ago, gave a better life to our mother and made Debbie able to walk again. I talked or texted with Victor four to five times a week.  Those quick checks on each other to see how a doctor's appointment went, how we were feeling, how our kids and grandchildren were, how a speech was or a funny story made our days better. We rarely didn't have a date in the future for breakfast, lunch or golf. The world is better because Victor spent 75 years doing everything he could to help everyone he could.  He lived life to the fullest and wanted everyone he knew to do the same. Thank you for sharing him with  of us.  We are blessed for having him be part of our lives.  We will cherish his memories forever.

I spent 22 years working with Dr. Goldberg, much of that as his TJ manager in the OR.  I still have the picture of his helmet next to mine on his last day before both of us were gone from UH.  My deepest sympathy to Mrs. G and the family.

Harriet, Rebecca, Jonathon, Eden, our beloved Victor, was brilliant as a surgeon;  brilliant as a scientist;  brilliant as a teacher, a mentor, a leader and a motivator. His brilliance was at its best however as a husband, father, grandfather and friend. I'll miss forever our almost daily quick calls or texts to see how we were, how our family's were, the happiness we could share and the little joys we had each day.  You tenderly cared for my newborn daughter, my wife and my mother-in-law as a physician. We cared for each other as friends, golf partner, lunch or breakfast dates and more. Victor lived life to the fullest and encouraged everyone he knew to do the same. His life was a blessing to everyone he touched with his hands, his mind and his heart.

As a former patient of Dr Goldberg's I am deeply touched by his passing.  His skillful hands restored my mobility and contined good health.  He was a consumate professional who will be sorely missed.  Our prayers go out to his family and loved ones.

Dearest Victor will illuminate our journey always. The light and love specially given to Harriet,Jonathan,Rebecca , Eden, Lucas, Jon and Laura will glow brightly for all time. Victors grandchildren will follow that glow and embrace all that is noble that with each hug Victor instilled in them.
