

WILLIAM "BILL" KAPLAN (age 77), died December 27, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Beloved husband of Paulette Kaplan (nee Wroblewski); devoted father of Daniel (Mitali Banerjee) Kaplan of Manhattan, NY; dear brother of the late Marilyn Harris; loving son of Ida and Daniel Kaplan (both deceased); cherished uncle of Scott (Amy) Harris, Hallie (Bianca Bellis) Harris-Friedman and Jodi Harris; dearly loved cousin of many. Bill was a graduate of Shaker Heights High School in 1957 and was accepted into Ohio State University. He joined and became president of his fraternity, Sigma Alpha Mu in 1960. He graduated with a BS from Ohio State University in 1961, continuing his education and receiving his Juris Doctorate from John Marshall Law School in 1967. Bill worked for TW Grogan Company as a mortgage banker and in commercial real estate management from 1967 to 1974 and was Associate of the Year by the Cleveland Real Estate Board in 1973. In 1974 he founded William Kaplan Company, Commercial Real Estate Appraisals and represented the Cleveland School Board for the Cleveland Real Estate Board of Revision. In 1981 Bill Founded AIBM, American Institute of Business Management, a Real Estate Tax Service Corporation presenting seminars and training in Real Estate Investment Analysis. In 1984 Bill Founded Mall Net Publishing Company: Publisher of “R” and “Now" Magazines distributed to 60 Major Shopping Center Markets in the US with a combined distribution of 2,500,000. In 1994 he founded “Art To Live With,” a National Art Dealer of Original Fine Art Prints. In 2001, after early retirement left him bored, Bill founded William Kaplan Company, Attorney at Law, specializing in Bankruptcy Law. Graveside services will be held in Bet Olam Cemetery, located at the corner of Chagrin Blvd. and Richmond Rd., Beachwood on Wednesday, December 30th at 11 AM.
