Obituary of Angelo DiRienzo
Angelo DiRienzo, age 86, of Lakewood, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. Angelo was born November 5, 1935 in Alvignano, Italy, the son of the late Luigi and Luigia (DiMatteo) DiRienzo. He is the beloved husband of 62 years to Concetta (Migliaccio); loving father of Maria Luisa (Jack) Wright, Antonio (Michelle) and Luigi (Becky); cherished Nonno of Luigi, Alexandra (Ryan), Olivia, Jake and Antonio; adored uncle of many. He was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. Angelo valued nothing as much as he valued his family. When he, his wife Concetta, and their three children moved from England to America in 1965, it was to make sure his family had the best futures laid out for them. As they all grew older, the family expanded and Angelo and Concetta welcomed 3 children-in-laws and 5 grandchildren to their lives. Angelo created a strong foundation for the value of family. Over the years, Angelo did everything with his grandchildren, from countless hours playing in the backyard and bike rides, to teaching them everything he knew about fixing anything that came their way. Nonno loved his trips with his family, playing in the pool and fully embracing Disney World with a cluster of children under 6 years old. Angelo’s love for family didn’t stop at his kids and grandkids, but extended to his nieces and nephews as well. Angelo and Concetta welcomed everyone to their table- literally and figuratively. They got together for dinner every week (and holidays) for at least the past 30 years. These meals were open to everyone and all felt welcome. Every year Angelo and Concetta would host a Nonno and Nonna’s Kids’ Picnic, bringing the extended family together at least once a year. There was always food, games, and lots of love. No one ever needed to question the love Angelo had, and still has, for his family. The family will receive friends on Thursday August 4, 2022 from 4PM-8PM at Craciun Berry Funeral Home, 7200 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 6928 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.craciunberryfuneral.com for the DiRienzo family.
